Cabin Clean Up

It's that time again to clean and open up the cabin! We have a few issues this year: broken beams under the porch, slow propane to the cabin, rusted shower stall and much needed roof. The list keeps getting longer and longer. We'll just do a little when we can. We had nearly every family represented to help clean this Memorial Day weekend!

Richard Perrett

Our dear friend, Richard Perrett, passed away Saturday morning May 29th. He was a wonderful counselor with Mark in the YSA branch. He LOVED the Young Single Adults and treated them with such kindness and compassion. He was gentle and unassuming. His wife Linda is a classy dear woman and a real pioneer. She is going to miss the love of her life. He is now free of his body and will be serving non-stop for the Lord. We will miss him!

HFRC Youth Council

I am a mentor from the HFRC to the youth council. These kids meet together often to do community service in our small town. For the past year they have been very busily involved in an Underage Drinking Task Force. They have worked hard to collect data about underage drinking in Hughson. They have made a survey, distributed the survey, collected the data, organized the data and then presented all this data to our school board and to the mayor. We have a few underage drinking issues in Hughson. Our goal is to eliminate underage drinking. This may seem unattainable but we all remember when smoking was acceptable for teens and now it is frowned on. We want to help contribute to this healthier lifestyle. Here are some pictures from our end of the year party.

Stake Primary Leadership Meeting

In October 2009 I was called to serve as the Stake Primary Pres. I am serving with 3 wonderful women; Deborah Brewer, Felica Renshaw and Ellie Scott. In April we had a leadership conference and we focused on the new Leadership Emphasis that we received from SLC. Every ward and nearly every branch was represented. We cleaned out the Primary closet and gave away gifts during our hour meeting. We divided into groups and had discussions about how our ward Primaries can focus on the Leadership Emphasis. We talked about how focusing our faith on children and those leading Primary, can draw down the powers of heaven into our lives. Each door was a discussion group. The theme was "Spring into Action" and it smelled so GREAT in there!

Hughson Health Fair

I am a board member of the Hughson Family Resource Center. In April the HFRC sponsors a Health Fair for the community. You can get free car seat checks, eye and ear exams, dental check-ups, diabetes, and blood pressure check ups. Vendors sell healthy fruits and nuts and anyone can donate blood. This year it was very well attended! Camilla and Gracie came into town to visit and to spend a few days while Michael is being trained in New York.

Easter at Morphys

Mere, McKenna and Paisley

Drew, the hunter.

Grandpa's new Easter shirt from Mere.

Dozens of eggs to dye.

Easter cuteness! Berry, Paisley and Taylor.

We hunted for eggs, competed in contests, ate and avoided the rain! Happy Easter!

F&F 4 Schools

Friends and Families 4 Schools is held once a year at a local school . It is an opportunity to help clean up our high school campus. This year we painted over graffiti, power washed the sidewalks, painted over skateboard skid-marks, and cut suckers off the redwood trees! We always feel accomplished after serving.

Granny Pat

My Mom, Patricia Petersen Baker, passed away on Jan. 28, 2010. She is loved and I miss her.
